Jenna Soneira
Jenna is Attorney Summers’ professional Law Clerk. Graduating in only three-and-a-half years from Virginia Tech, she earned her undergraduate degree in English with a focus on Pre-Law and Philosophy. Jenna was very involved with Phi Alpha Delta, the Pre-Law fraternity on campus as well as Sigma Tau Delta, the school’s English fraternity, and the English Club. Jenna also spent her time volunteering in her university’s Conversation Partner Program where she mentored Chinese exchange students through instructional lessons in English language, and planned events for exposure to American culture.
Prior to working with Attorney Summers, Jenna worked with Honorable Marcus H. Long, Presiding Judge (VA). She compiled research for a proposed Drug Court at the Christiansburg Courthouse, where she also created summary documents for a proposed Mental Health Court at the Christiansburg Courthouse. Her work there included assisting with Juvenile and Domestic court cases and client caseworker documentation.
In addition to working with the judge, Jenna also worked as a Special Victims Coordinator Assistant for the Montgomery County State Attorney’s Office (VA). This job involved: researching cases, collaborating with attorneys, collecting and filing necessary documents, contacting victims of an offense, providing information on client’s rights and services available, scheduling, interviewing victims to prepare for upcoming hearings, collaborating with a variety of legal professionals to assist in building compelling evidence, and assisting in the representation of clients in Juvenile and Domestic court cases.
Her enjoyment in helping others is not only limited to humans, but also to helping animals. Jenna’s compassion for animals has been ongoing throughout her life. She is an accomplished competitive Dressage horseback rider and has adopted multiple shelter pets. Jenna has a big heart and really hopes to be supportive for all clients. She plans to attend law school in the near future, hoping to focus on Family Law, as Attorney Summers does, or expand her love of animals studying Animal Law.
